Click here to see reviews for "Inside Rail." Being compared to everyone from XTC to Counting Crows to Bryan Ferry doesn't bother Cubic Feet co-founders Mark Davison and Woody Lissauer. In some ways, Cubic Feet is a lot like those bands.
"Cubic Feet plays alternative rock. We're basically two songwriters who go for music that makes us feel something, makes you feel a mood....We're into writing songs that will be just as relevant tomorrow as they are today..." Mark Davison
Based out of the decidedly rock & roll town of Baltimore, Cubic Feet is a band that tours up and down the East Coast and has released three albums on Meteor Records (with distribution currently through indie powerhouse Electric Kingdom). The band has charted in CMJ's College Top 150 and VMJ's Alternative/Rock Top 40 Video for "Bitter Pill" from Passenger In Time.
It was in 1992 that the band, led by the core team of Mark and Woody, released their first full length album Across The River. Across The River garnered much critical press, radio, and a music publishing deal with Warner/Chappell, but did not have much of a commercial impact, largely due to limited distribution.
The band's second full length album, Passenger In Time, soon followed and landed Cubic Feet a distribution deal along with further praise from the press and radio; the band had begun to make its first commercial strides towards a wider audience.
With the group's third and current release Inside Rail, Cubic Feet hope this will be the album that gives t,hem broader exposure. It has already garnered solid reviews in the press and significant radio attention. The band will be touring throughout 1998. "Good independent music spitting in the face of the odds." -GAVIN
"A clear penchant for pop melodies...uniquely refreshing, yet completely consistent with the direction of new music today..." -Album Network
"Number One again!!!" -WONB-94.9FM
